Resumen:

Directional couplers are the key elements in manywideband millimeter wave systems. In this case, the couplermust provide a broadband flat frequency response to anothermillimeter wave circuit. Therefore, two types of directionalcouplers have been designed in order to achieve a constant levelof weak coupling over a wide frequency band from 20 to 40GHz. The fist one was obtained by employing two cascadedsections, one of which, has a wiggly (sawtooth) conductor-edgegeometry between adjacent conductors. The second one is anonuniform coupler. Both couplers were implemented inmicrostrip technology on alumina substrate. Results ofmeasurements are also presented in this paper.
