This paper presents an experimental SyntheticAperture Radar (SAR) system which has been developed by theMicrowave and Radar Group (GMR) of the TechnicalUniversity of Madrid (UPM). The SAR system uses a LinearFrequency Modulated Continuous Wave (LFM-CW) radar assensor. This radar operates at millimetre-wave band. The SARsystem uses a car as mobile platform to obtain high resolutionradar images of any ground area next to a straight road. TheSAR signal processing chain is described. Furthermore, threehigh resolution SAR images (30 x 30 cm) have been presented todemonstrate the feasibility and the good performance of ourradar in a ground-level SAR application.
