Resumen:

If the standard RDA (Range-Doppler Algorithm) forthe ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) image formationtask is used, the obtained images are usually defocused, specially when large illumination times are processed. Hence, ifthe CPI (Coherent Processing Interval) is reduced, the blurringis mitigated, but the Doppler (azimuth) resolution is degraded. Nevertheless, superresolution algorithms may be applied in thiscontext to improve the standard Fourier resolution. In thispaper, the performance of these superresolution approaches isevaluated. We conclude that the quality of the obtained ISARimages is not enhanced in comparison with the results obtainedafter applying motion compensation-based techniques.
