Resumen:

This paper presents the design of microstrip tostripline transitions built on the same and different layers ofsubstrate. To achieve this in the first case, a cavity is opened onthe substrate layers above the stripline. The main interest of thesetransitions is the ability to excite stripline directly from the samelayer, as well as to use them as 50 matched interconnection betweenlines and MMIC’s. Two transitions of this kind are realizedand measured, as well as a vertical feedthrough from microstripto fully buried stripline, which is of interest in case of microstripand stripline circuits sharing the same substrate. Comparisonsof measured circuits and simulations provide insight on what arethe effects of the fabrication tolerance of critical structures suchas substrate cavities.
