Nowadays, millimeter-wave systems are being a keyfactor to develop wide band applications. In many microwaveapplications it is necessary to cover bandwidths up to 50%. Inthis paper, a broad band directional coupler with dielectricoverlay in millimeter-wave band is presented. This leads us totechnology aspects, in directional coupler design, are key pointsto achieve the proper response of the circuit. The asymmetricdirectional coupler proposed in this paper covers the 15 – 45GHz band and presents a 15 dB level coupling with rippleamplitude of 1 dB and a reflection coefficient better than 10 dB.
