Resumen:

The use of wind turbines to generate electricity hasbecome a major problem in meteorological radars. Due to thelow Doppler frequency resolution that these radars show andthe few number of pulses for coherent processing in operationalscans, the most representative wind turbine radar signaturecharacteristics can’t be observed in operational explorationmodes by using the classical Fourier spectral estimation. In thispaper, we propose super-resolution techniques to improveFourier’s Doppler resolution and provide experimental results. In particular, we utilize auto-regressive coefficients togetherwith the modified covariance method to estimate the Dopplerpower spectrum. The experimental results show an enhancedDoppler resolution.
