Resumen:

The motivation for this work was the introduction into the teaching methodology of the MUIT’s subject Radar Systems (Master Universitario en Ingeniería de Telecomunicación, ETSIT-UPM) handling real echoes recorded by students in laboratory practices. The application of signal processing algorithms on real scenes echoes from previously experienced by the student represents a better understanding of the objectives and evaluation of different processing techniques. For this we have used the data acquisition system ‘HandyScope HS-5’ in two different environments. The first scenario is as central a marine X-band radar. The second scenario is developed around the radar training system called Lab-Volt, which allows the simulation of radar systems with different waveforms. We have developed various tools for data acquisition, control and processing in order to use them in the laboratory. This article will describe these tools and scenarios used.
