Resumen:

This article describes the architecture of a truncated-pyramid phased array which integrates a Directive Antenna and an Omnidirectional Antenna in one single mechanical structure. Both antennas provide service for an Interrogator equipment of IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) application. The outstanding contribution of this article lies on the fact that the Directive Antenna is a monopulse, electronically controlled beam steering, active phased array. The paper also includes a study on the most critical requirement of the system: the monopulse precision. In this study the effect of errors on the radiant part is treated separately from the errors caused by the receiver processor.
