Resumen:

This project starts during the test phase of an FMCW traffic radar, which evaluates the reliability of velocity  measurements and vehicle detection. During these tests, the echoes received by the radar under evaluation are compared with the information provided by an additional radar with known reliability. The introduction of video recordings of the scene considerably reduces the deployment of necessary equipment, and provides additional information regarding vehicle classification and not detectable events by a supplementary radar. The video is  subjected to image processing in which the vehicles are isolated and located. Subsequently, an alpha-beta tracking filter and a track creation and classification algorithm are implemented to establish distances, velocity and vehicle counts.
