Resumen:

Emerging femtocell networks are conceived toextend radio coverage indoors, giving support to a high varietyof services. In enterprise scenarios, the demand of reliable andaccurate indoor Location Based Services (LBS) is gainingmomentum. The femtocell network infrastructure can be used toprovide location services based on Received Signal StrengthIndex (RSSI) and fingerprint location techniques. In this paper,an analysis of different propagation models has been carried outto evaluate their suitability for reducing calibration effortsduring fingerprint calibration stage. For that purpose, aprocedure including both a simulation process and ameasurement campaign has been defined. Results obtained willallow adjusting indoor propagation models parameters andevaluating their applicability for reducing calibration effortwhile improving accuracy in location fingerprint techniques.
