Resumen:

This paper presents an experimental synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system which is under development in the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. The proposed system uses a linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFM-CW) radar with two antenna configuration for transmission and reception. The radar operates at millimetre-wave band with a maximum transmitted bandwidth of 2 GHz. The advantage is that the system allows to tune different interval ranges and sampling the received signals with a constant rate. The proposed system will use a car as mobile platform to obtain high resolution radar images of any ground area next to a straight road.
