This paper contributes to the automatic indoorwireless LAN planning and optimization, analyzing resultsobtained by means of simulation of several existing algorithms,to determine their applicability and performance in a realscenario. The comparison of the various algorithms isperformed according to typical design parameters and figuresof merit used in common WLAN deployments. The resultspresented cover both the network performance results asconsequence of the best placement obtained, and the totalcomputation t ime required.
