Resumen:

A novel method to analyze coexistence issues between multiple WLAN users and a Bluetooth system is presented. The interference scenario consists on several IEEE 802.11 WLAN (wireless local area networks) users operating in DSSS (direct sequence spread spectrum) mode and one Bluetooth transmitter coexisting in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. The role of victim (interfered) receiver is played by a WLAN station considered as the desired receiver or station. An expression to estimate the bit error probability of the victim receiver in such scenario is derived and graphical results are presented based on it. In addition, the effect of Rayleigh channel fading is evaluated by means of a simulation based on the Monte Carlo method. Finally, some conclusions related to coexistence between WLAN and WPAN (wireless personal area networks) equipment in the 2.4 GHz ISM band are exposed
