Magdalena Salazar Palma   

Magdalena Salazar Palma was born in Granada, Spain. She received the degree and PhD degree in Ingeniero de Telecomunicación from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain). She is a Profesor Titular de Universidad of the Departamento de Señales, Sistemas y Radiocomunicaciones (Signals, Systems and Radiocommunications Department) at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (School for Telecommunication Engineering) of the same university. She has taught courses in the areas of electromagnetics, microwave and antenna theory, network and filter analysis and design, communication theory, numerical methods for electromagnetic field problems, and related laboratories. She has developed her research within the Grupo de Microondas y Radar (Microwave and Radar Group) in the same areas. She has authored more than 200 publications (more than 145 in the international arena) in books, scientific journals, symposium proceedings, seminars and reports. She has participated in more than 30 research projects and contracts, financed by national and international institutions and companies. She has lectured a number of invited conferences and seminars. She has received two individual research awards. She has served in different academic committees within the Department, School, and University. She has also served as reviewer for a number of national and international symposiums and scientific journals. She has been a member of the editorial board of several international scientific journals. She has also served as reviewer for the National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective (ANEP), and for the Commission of the European Union. She has been a member of the Technical Program Committee of several international symposiums. She has been the Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson of the AP/MTT (Antennas and Propagation/Microwave Theory and Techniques) Joint Chapter of the IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Spain Section. She is the Chairperson of IEEE Spain Section and member of the IEEE Women in Engineering Committee (WIEC).
